The CDPH Office of School Health, in partnership with the California Department of Education, has issued a statewide standing order for the distribution and administration of Epinephrine auto-injectors in all California Schools. This standing order is signed by the CA Public Health Officer, so no additional physician signature is required.

Epinephrine treats anaphylaxis which is a severe or life-threatening allergic reaction. This standing order can be used similar to a prescription with these 3 simple steps:

  • Complete an online application
  • An Epinephrine order is instantly generated
  • This standing order can be used at EpiPen4Schools to receive up to four free auto-injectors

It authorizes regular and/or junior autoinjectors depending on school type.

This standing order can also be taken to any California pharmacy to obtain auto-injectors at your own cost.

Training standards are available at CDE.

Who is Eligible?
